Benalmadena Costa also has nearly 10 kilometers of beaches, from quiet coves to family focused beaches with lots of activities. The beaches are a mixture of man-made, golden sand and shingle. Many of them have been awarded the Blue Flag for their cleanliness and safety standards.

Playa de Santa Ana

The closest beach to Benal Beach Aparthotel is Santa Ana Beach, only 200 metres from bed to beach.  One of Benalmádena’s most visited and famous beaches, it has a Blue Flag. This beach has dark sand and is 500 metres long. It is popular for its sports facilities and that it once was part of a fishing area. Nearby is Puerto Marina, an area full of restaurants specialising in fish and seafood dishes.

Carvajal Beach

A family favourite, this Blue Flag beach is usually very busy. There are beach bars and lots of beach activities to choose from. It is accessible by train to Carvajal, close to shops and restaurants, neighbouring Fuengirola/Los Boliches.

Malapesquera Beach

Close to Benalmadena Marina, this is the beach where the Festival of the Virgin del Carmen is held every year and a statue is walked by sailors into the sea. When the virgin isn’t hogging the waters, 700 metre long beach is very popular.

The Blue Flag beach is accessible by foot, road and bus with car parking, accessibility ramps and Red Cross presence in the event of emergencies. Next to the Nautical Club, you can hire boats or enjoy many of the water sports facilities. There are sunbeds and parasols for hire as well as beach showers.

Arroyo Beach

At the foot of Arroyo de la Miel village, this is a great beach for serious swimmers. There is a long promenade which runs the length of this Blue Flag beach.

Torre Bermeja Beach

For fun and games, this is the beach to head to. Whilst compact (approx.. 600 metres) it is close to the town and all its amenities. Rent our jet skis and boats, play football or volleyball on the sands or try some of the water sports such as wind surfing. There are several beach bars and restaurants to choose from.

Torremuelle Beach

This is the beach to get away from it all. Due to its dark sand and shingle, it is not as popular as other beaches, which makes it great for some peaceful sunbathing and swimming. At a 1km in length, it is larger than many of the town central beaches. You will find a popular beach bar there.

Benalnatura

For the naturists, there is a small cove and nudist beach, after Torrequebrada and before Torremuelle. There is limited parking in the summer. You will see a sign “Benalnatura” indicating a steep concrete path down through the trees to the beach. There is a beach bar. Naturist only.

La Malagueta, Malaga

If you’d like to combine sightseeing with the beach, then head into Malaga and its most popular beach, La Malagueta.

It’s home to the famous malagueta sculpture and has many cafés, restaurants  and bars, children’s parks and lifeguards. During the annual Malaga Feria (fair) it hosts concerts and live events. A very popular beach.

Maro Beach, Nerja

About an hour’s drive away, Maro beach is worth it. Here the clear waters are a beautiful blue-green colour and great for snorkelling with coral reefs and some colourful fish to watch.

It is surrounded by vegetation, crops and canes and is loved by the locals. You can also hire a kayak on the beach where there is also a restaurant. It is fully accessible.
